  • Andrey + Larisa Part 6 | Tacoma, Washington

Now here’s for a funny blooper:

Right after the ceremony, the groom announced in English, “And for my American friends, we have a table assigned just for you.” I’m thinking, Aren’t ALL the Russians here your American friends too? But everyone seemed to know exactly what he was talking about. Yep, that would be us…the only-one-language-speaking-friends! :D

During the reception, a wide variety of individuals and groups would sing and/or play Russian-style music for the bride and groom. It was as if things were constantly moving between the MCs and performers all into the night. I so love listening to Russian, even though I have no clue what they are saying! It just sounds so cool!

  • Andrey + Larisa Part 5 | Tacoma, Washington

You may think that a 40 minute ceremony is long, but unless you have been to a few Russian weddings, the Russians can testify otherwise. Afterwards, a few Russians came up to me and said, “That was the shortest ceremony we’ve had in a while…he only preached for one hour!” I didn’t mind one bit. Made for more shooting time! happy

  • Andrey + Larisa Part 3 | Tacoma, Washington

Stadium High School reminds me so much of a castle! Perfect for bridal party portraits.

Funny thing was it had been raining for days straight before the wedding, and Saturday it was scheduled to rain. But God definitely isn’t limited to our weather forecast system! The running joke around here is that its sunny on Saturdays during the rainy season because so many Russians pray for good weather on their wedding day!

  • Andrey + Larisa Part 2 | Tacoma, Washington

Groomsmen arrived around 8:30 for a few photos around the house before the entire bridal party headed into downtown Tacoma.

  • Andrey + Larisa Part 1 | Tacoma, Washington

I hardly expected anything less than a cultural experience with this Russian wedding. Months earlier I had done Andrey and Larisa’s engagement photos and was beyond looking forward to photographing their wedding. Their love for each other is so pure and Christ-centered. I sure don’t know where all those months went leading up to their wedding, it all happened so fast! The day had now arrived.

My alarm startled me awake with its cute little annoying tune at 5:30am, and I arrived at the bride’s house by 6:30am to find that their day had begun long ago. All the bridesmaids stayed the night, got to bed by midnight and woke up at 3am to get their hair and makeup done. 3AM! Larisa couldn’t keep a smile off her face! Such a gorgeous beaming bride!

  • Dad & Mom | Puyallup, Washington

Dad and Mom, I thank God upon every remembrance of you.

Thank you for teaching us to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Thank you for training us to be grateful and eat whatever was put on our plate, even though it was leftovers from Grandma’s green olives and celery filled lime jello.

Thank you for training us to work hard and to give the firstfruits of all our increase to the Lord.

Thank you Mom, for letting us make messes all over the house then telling us to clean it all up before Dad got home.

Thank you for teaching us that everything we have belongs to God and that we are to be faithful stewards of what He has entrusted us with.

Thank you, Dad, for providing for us.

Thank you, Mom, for being a keeper at home.

Thank you for genuinely loving us and each other.

Thank you for pointing us to Christ.

I love and admire you, Mom and Dad!

  • Peter | 2011 Senior | Eatonville, Washington

I don’t know of anyone besides Peter who can keep such a straight face and have made the funniest comment seconds before! I’m pretty sure I ended up laughing more than actually taking pictures! Definitely a lot of fun driving all over Eatonville’s back roads looking for the perfect spots for your senior portraits.

  • Hiking in Georgia

Such a vast and majestic panoramic view at the summit! Although these mountains are quite different from the ones I’ve been accustomed to here in the Evergreen State, there is a rustic beauty about them, causing me to yet again be in awe of Who God is.

Romans 1:20 “For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.”

    Thoroughly wiped out winky

    Eeeeeerik…
