Roadtrip to Illinois
I was shocked when Dad pulled in the driveway with the rental car we were going to take across country to my brother’s wedding in Illinois! Talk about a fancy rig! I think our beloved Toyota was a wee bit jealous that we were leaving her behind. But seeing as how there would need to be room for six people and all our gear + food and musical instruments, I think she understood.
The Toyota’s original engine mileage! Such a beautiful thing. God has indeed blessed us with a car that practically runs on prayer!
Driving through Western Washington…
You’ll have to check out a later post to see Andrew and Rebekah’s wedding pictures, but here’s the documentation of our journey home after stopping the first night in the middle of the Midwest at a Super 8.
SNOW in the Badlands? Seriously?!
We were going to attempt driving through the night the last leg of the journey, but after seeing that we were the only tire tracks breaking through the snow on the interstate, Dad wisely figured we best stop for the night. You don’t know how good that sounded to all the long legs, scrunched up from the long hours of driving! By the time I took this picture the following morning, Dad had already brushed most of the snow off the windshield and hood, but the truck to the right is a perfect example of the 4-6 inch snowfall that night before.
Montana. Almost HOME!!!
I don’t have pictures of the welcome home we experienced, but it was perfect…complete with gorgeous evening sunshine, a freshly mowed lawn, a deliciously home cooked meal, and a booby-trapped house! You’re the best neighbors…EVER!!!
